Liam's first taste of FOOD!

Tonight we let Liam try rice cereal. He's only 4 1/2 months old, and we were planning on waiting longer but he's more than doubled his birth weight, can sit up and hold his head really well, and totally wonders why we are putting things in our mouth and he just sits there with toys at dinner.

We got him Happybellies probiotic brown rice cereal, and he LOVED it.

We mixed it with some breastmilk and he gobbled it right up. I only made him a tiny bit at first, thinking he'd only want a few bites. But he ate that entire bowl (1 tbsp rice cereal with 4 tbsp milk) and then almost finished another. It was messy and fun.

We're thinking we'll let him eat rice cereal for a few weeks then move on to some veggies. And other than the rice cereal, we're planning on making his food. Yum yum yum. I made most of Ben's food, and I had this book that I loved (Super Baby Food). I think we'll just sort of wing it though, I know some of the first ones we want to try are peas, carrots, and avocado. I am excited about the food, it's so fun!!!

Here's video of his first time eating. It didn't take him long to catch on. And about 90% of it actually went in his mouth. When he spilled he sucked it all of his fingers, and even tried to suck it off the bib :)

Do they still have America's Funniest Home Videos?

I will admit to watching that when I was little. With Bob Saget. But only because my parents would never let us have cable or satellite, so we were stuck with a crappy antenna that got 3 fuzzy channels on good days, or 1 on bad days, and if we had John go up on the roof and point it just right sometimes we could get Fox, too.

Anyway... this is the funniest video of Liam and Ben, so far. I'm sure there will be more to come, as they get older. But this cracked me up. I think it's funnier if you've seen the "Charlie Bit Me!" video. That one is hilarious. It cracks me up every time. And I think the boy's English accent makes it even cuter.

So here's the Charlie video, and our version.

And here's one of Ben, Liam and Amelia (Laura's daughter) too, just for fun.

Cake pops and matching outfits...

We went to Jason's mom's house for an Easter brunch on Sunday. I made Ben and Liam wear matching outfits, because I can.
Liam loved it.

Everyone had fun passing Liam around, and fighting over who got to hold him. This one was after his nap I think? He took a nice long hour and a half nap that probably would have been longer, but Grammy Lynn couldn't wait anymore and went in and got him. She claims he made a noise...

Cute one of the boys in their silly little outfits:

And I attempted to make Bakerella's cute little Easter Egg cake pops. Mine are not quite as fabulous, but they tasted awesome anyway. I made them with lemon cake. Yum.

The Easter Bunny loot.

Liam guarding his egg...

I just like this picture.

And a video of Liam entertaining everyone with his cute little tricks...
Also, the music in the background is Jason's band's new album :)

Overalls

Wow, these overalls just barely fit him. When I made them, I thought he'd wear them this fall, since they looked like they could fit a one year old. Or my four month old....
Not the most awesome picture. I think maybe I could get some more use out of them if I lengthened the straps. That wouldn't be too hard... and I think I've got some more of this yarn somewhere still. Maybe I will try that.

Four months

Liam had his four month checkup on Friday. He's nice and fat, that's for sure!
The stats:
18 lbs, 1 oz.
26 inches long
47 1/2 cm head circumference

He's getting his two bottom teeth, had one shot, and overall is just perfect. The Dr. was impressed with his strength, and of course his amazing cuteness :)
