I'm back!

Well, hello there, blog!

I am finally done. I took the bar exam July 28&29. Hooray! And now, since the results don't come out until September 25th... plenty of time for crafting and playing with the boys!

Liam is an army crawling fool now, and TODAY did his first little sign. I have been signing "more" to him every time he eats, but apparently "come here" works better for him. I always do this with my hands when I want him to come to me, and he just started doing it at everything he wants. So I got some videos of him signing "come here" to bread. haha. Silly little man.

Ben is starting kindergarten in September. I'm super excited... and REALLY excited for school shopping. My favorite thing in the world! He's getting so big and smart. I can't wait till he starts elementary school... he is going to the one two blocks from our house, which is nice! And I like the school a lot, I think. He likes it because
1. our little neighbor girl goes there and
2. there is a rock climbing wall in the gym.
Speaking of rock walls... here's some pictures of him climbing the traveling rock wall in the park the other day. He loved it, and got to the top 3 times!

My crafty kid.

Ben had been working on this for quite a while at school. It's a frog... a magic frog, apparently. Because it's golden. He sewed it all by himself, and I think he did such a great job. He usually sews with big embroidery thread and a big needle, but this time he got to use the little needle and thread. Fancy.

He's very proud of it. He's been telling us about his progress on it for a while, and today when we brought it home he said "I'm really awesome at sewing."

Caryn Jones, Esq.

I am finished with law school!!! Hooray. Now I get to call myself esquire, even if I don't pass the bar :) I AM going to pass, though. Between my last final and the start of the bar review class, I had about 2 weeks off. It's been pretty awesome. I cleaned out my car (which looked like homeless people were living in it), we did some big spring cleaning, and a little reading of silly books. Well, okay, I started reading silly books before school ended. Jason got me the newest book in my favorite series. I had planned on waiting till school was over, it was going to be a little reward for myself. But I couldn't wait. So I read it anyway, after I'd finished 2/3 of my finals. I read really fast anyway, so it only took me a couple nights to finish it.

Oh and the point of this post! I forgot, it had a point. I did some crafting, finally. Today I fixed some clothes that needed fixing, sewed a little dress for Amelia, and made pants and a little stuffed bunny for Liam. I made the pants and bunny out of some pants I got on sale at Urban Outfitters a year or so ago. They were too small, but they were only $9 and I figured I'd just use them to make something. And I finally did. These pants are going to fit him for about a week, because I underestimated how huge he is. His butt just barely fits in them. Oops.
And for those of you who went to high school with me, these are the same kind of pants I used to make out of random fabric all the time in high school. Only tiny.

The bunny is cute though, and I gave it nice big flat floppy ears, so he can chew on them. He's teething and loves chewing on fabric these days.

Here's the craftiness. I also found the battery to my camera while we were spring cleaning, so no more cell phone pictures on the blog!!

Liam's first taste of FOOD!

Tonight we let Liam try rice cereal. He's only 4 1/2 months old, and we were planning on waiting longer but he's more than doubled his birth weight, can sit up and hold his head really well, and totally wonders why we are putting things in our mouth and he just sits there with toys at dinner.

We got him Happybellies probiotic brown rice cereal, and he LOVED it.

We mixed it with some breastmilk and he gobbled it right up. I only made him a tiny bit at first, thinking he'd only want a few bites. But he ate that entire bowl (1 tbsp rice cereal with 4 tbsp milk) and then almost finished another. It was messy and fun.

We're thinking we'll let him eat rice cereal for a few weeks then move on to some veggies. And other than the rice cereal, we're planning on making his food. Yum yum yum. I made most of Ben's food, and I had this book that I loved (Super Baby Food). I think we'll just sort of wing it though, I know some of the first ones we want to try are peas, carrots, and avocado. I am excited about the food, it's so fun!!!

Here's video of his first time eating. It didn't take him long to catch on. And about 90% of it actually went in his mouth. When he spilled he sucked it all of his fingers, and even tried to suck it off the bib :)

Do they still have America's Funniest Home Videos?

I will admit to watching that when I was little. With Bob Saget. But only because my parents would never let us have cable or satellite, so we were stuck with a crappy antenna that got 3 fuzzy channels on good days, or 1 on bad days, and if we had John go up on the roof and point it just right sometimes we could get Fox, too.

Anyway... this is the funniest video of Liam and Ben, so far. I'm sure there will be more to come, as they get older. But this cracked me up. I think it's funnier if you've seen the "Charlie Bit Me!" video. That one is hilarious. It cracks me up every time. And I think the boy's English accent makes it even cuter.

So here's the Charlie video, and our version.

And here's one of Ben, Liam and Amelia (Laura's daughter) too, just for fun.
